Our focus is our customer's needs and we therefore aim to offer a continuous high standard of customer care. This department is run by Sue Nichol our Sales Administrator. She is dedicated to ensuring you receive the best possible service from us.

Sue has held roles such as Practice Manger in a large GP surgery; Administration and Customer Care Manager at Tarmac and then moved on to the position of Sales Consultant for a well known recruitment company. 

Sue's experience in both sales and customer service enables Kestrel to maintain the very high standard of customer care on which it has built its reputation. She is dedicated to making sure you receive the best possible service form us.

Kestrel Ophthalmics Limited was incorporated in March 2001. It is a family business with all members of the family playing a key role in developing and nurturing the growth of the company.

Having started with just Oasis and Biolon, we have concentrated on sourcing innovative products from around the world in the ophthalmic arena. As you will see from our products list, we have grown significantly since 2001.

We cover the UK with a team of four representatives and we have appointed a Distributor in Ireland. Our team is trained to adopt the highest standards and is focused on providing innovative and cost effective solutions for our customer's needs.

As our name suggests, the company's product focus is on ophthalmology. It is our aim to become the most respected distributor of ophthalmic products in the UK through the introduction and sales of innovative products and through the quality of service to our customers and to our suppliers.

KestrelIan Ponsford

Ian has worked in the pharmaceutical and medical related industries since 1976. He has held positions including Regional Manager and Representative with Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Regional Manager with Britannia Pharmaceuticals, National Sales Manager with RDL Limited, Marketing Director with Inphormed Limited, Sales Director and Deputy Managing Director with Ventiv Health and Managing Director with Kestrel Healthcare.

Ian Ponsford has eight years experience of sourcing and marketing ophthalmic products.
KestrelMaria Ponsford

Maria left University in 1995 with an honours degree in Business Studies and Spanish and joined Parke Davis on a Graduate Development Course in September of that year as a medical representative. She became a Medical Representative in June 1996. In November 1998 she was promoted to the position of Head Office Trainer for Parke Davis and Warner Lambert. In March 2000 Warner Lambert was purchased by Pfizer and Maria took the opportunity to take a sabbatical from her career path and travel around the World for 12 months. She joined Kestrel Ophthalmics as Hospital Business Director in June 2001.

Maria has been selling ophthalmic products for six years and has established excellent relationships with the top opinion leaders in ophthalmology in the UK. Her pharmaceutical and training background made her the ideal person for promotion to the position of Sales and Marketing Director.
